Zach Eglinsdoerfer of Troop 54 recently completed an Eagle Scout Project at Greenwood Lake.  It is along the trail in an area that is known as the “old gun range.”  The trail is 3 miles round-trip and expanding every day. It is a nice walk in nature along the lakeshore.

Zach’s Eagle Scout project was funded by Mark Morrison in memory of his late wife-Lara.

Trail users can stop, enjoy the serenity and rest in a location that has a remote feel-although not very far from the boat ramp parking area.

Zach and the Troop would like to thank Michael Lejong of MAHG Architecture, a Greenwood resident and alumnus of Troop 54.  Mr. Lejong is an avid trail user, trail builder and supporter of projects like this.  Mr. Lejong is currently assisting two other scouts with projects soon to come.

Zach’s leadership project is one that met with many obstacles to be dealt with.  The remote location made it more challenging with logistics and material placement.  Admirers of the project ask how he got those heavy beams in place?   The answer: “Boy Power!”
