Troop 54 Produces another Eagle Scout: Charles Bailey

Charles Bailey

These metal plaques along the walking trail indicate points of historical significance. They were an Eagle Scout project of Charles Bailey of Troop 54.

Greenwood’s historic Boy Scouts of America Troop #54 is pleased to announce to the community the contribution of yet another service project to better life in our area. The Multi-use Walking Trail system throughout Greenwood connects portions of town and leads to the various parks and recreational facilities like Bell Park and other points of interest that are now marked. Along the walking trail are spots that allow for Eagle Scouts to enhance the use of the trail and to provide opportunities to improve the quality of life in Greenwood. One such project is among the latest Eagle Scout projects, that of Charles Bailey. Not yet 17 years old, Baily has but one more merit badge before attaining Eagle Scout recognition.

Bailey’s project includes the placement of historical markers along the walking trail indicating areas of historical significance with black and gold metal plaques bearing the information obtained by researching city records and historical society materials.

Charles is a third generation Troop 54 member. He is the son of John and Natalya Bailey of Greenwood and is the grandson of Mrs. Waylen Bailey and the late Dr. Charles Bailey of Greenwood.
