Randy Luke Davis Buddy Bass Fishing Tournament a Big Success!

*Editor’s Note: The April 9 issue of The Greenwood Tradition proudly promoted a tournament to raise funds for scholarships in memory of the late randy Luke Davis. The proceeds go to help EMT’s like randy with the costs associated with their training. Here’s a follow-up on the event’s success.

Dozens of fishermen took to the waves in support of the Randy Luke Davis Memorial Tournament-another successful year.

Over seventy prizes valued at a total of over $6,000.00 were awarded that were contributed by Sebastian and Crawford County business and friends.

The event raised nearly $4,700.00 which will provide two full scholarships at UAFS this fall including all equipment and uniforms. There are sufficient funds to award a partial scholarship as well.

The Scholarship fund will be awarding a full ride, tuition/fees scholarship for a Paramedic for spring 2015 at Arkansas Tech.

The scholarship fund will be hosting a Bean & Cornbread Supper at Farmers Bank on October 11th- All you can eat for $5 with a bake sale and hat sale.

A website allowing pre-registration with pay pal for future tournaments has been established and donations can be made through it as well.

The event keeps Randy’s passion alive and his family is so proud to be a part of such a giving, caring and loving community. They thank all participants, donors and supports.

Randy was loved and respected for his work. This annual event that promotes giving to help others is his legacy.
