Kevin Jones Named Football’s Offensive Player of the Year 2013

Bulldog Fans remember those last second victories courtesy of field goals by Kevin Jones in games last year. They evidently caught the eye of sports fans all over Arkansas and sports journalists as well. But those were just the heart stopping plays of his junior year.

Greenwood Kevin Jones, who also plays Wide Receiver and at Defensive Back has been named the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette “6A Offensive Player of the Year” at an event held Thursday in Little Rock. Little wonder with such versatile skills.  Jones was photographed at the event with Coach Lou Holtz-Head Football Coach for the Arkansas Razorbacks 1977-1983.

Jones was the player who made a difference in several games this last fall. He threw passes from a punt formation, intercepted passes on defense, put wining last second field goals through the uprights and crossed the goal line on foot. That kind of versatility was rewarded Thursday.

Jones is the son of Greenwood Head Football Coach Rick and Mona Jones. Kevin is a Junior this year at Greenwood High School.
