Columbia Artists Theatricals will perform “Jekyll & Hyde” at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 23 at the ArcBest Corp. Performing Arts Center, located at 55 S. 7th St.

“Jekyll & Hyde,” an adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic novel “Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde,” stays true to Stevenson’s original story of a man torn by split personalities — the good Dr. Jekyll and the evil Mr. Hyde — while incorporating pop rock numbers from Grammy- and Tony-nominated composer Frank Wildhorn and Oscar- and Grammy-winning composer Leslie Bricusse.

The New York Daily News said the show is “lush and appealing,” and The Chicago Tribune said “the great strength of this show is its score.”

Stacey Jones of Fort Smith, associate vice chancellor for campus and community events, agreed with the critics, saying the Tony Award-nominated production will feature “some of the best music to ever come out of a Broadway musical.”

“‘Jekyll & Hyde’ features some outstanding pop rock music like ‘This Is the Moment,’ ‘Someone Like You’ and ‘A New Life,’” Jones said. “It will be a nice change of pace from some of our other shows and will put on an incredibly entertaining show for the audience.”

“Jekyll & Hyde” is part of Season of Entertainment 34, a year-long lineup of entertainment sponsored by the University of Arkansas – Fort Smith. The season features a variety of plays, musicals and symphonic performances, including “Stomp,” “Delta-v” and “Julius Caesar.”

Tickets are $40 for first-tier seating and $37 for second-tier. To purchase tickets, call the UAFS Box Office at 479-788-7300 or visit
