Host Families Needed: Foreign Exchange Students Coming to Greenwood

Greenwood High School has a rich tradition of hosting foreign exchange students who come to the United States to study and enjoy the benefits of the American experience and share some of their own cultures with host families and Greenwood students.

Host families are needed for the students coming for the 2015-2016 school year. These arriving exchange students will have their own insurance and spending money. Their host families need only provide them a bed, meals and a quiet place to study.

This year’s students are from many different countries and bring a wide variety of interests with them. Some of them include: Cinzia from Italy who practices softball four times each week. She loves Gossip Girl, camping and traveling. Sharon from the Netherlands plays softball at the highest level in the Netherlands, likes horseback riding, TV series, movies, computers and dance. Caloger from Italy plays soccer, likes swimming, science/chemistry and music. Merel from the Netherlands likes shopping, movies and plays both tennis and soccer. Allesandro from Italy likes music, TV, documentaries, is brilliant in the sciences, martial arts and plays soccer. Enrico form Italy likes tennis, plays soccer, loves to cook and listen to music.

These are just a few examples of the students arriving soon. If you are interested participating in this very rewarding experience and hosting a foreign student, contact the program early to best match a student’s interests with those of your own household.
