New Boy Scout Troop Chartered

The Westark Area Council of Boy Scouts of America has chartered a new Boy Scouts of America Troop in our area-Troop 1989. The chartering organization is Southern Thunder Trucking Company. 6th Annual “Airing of the Quilts” Opens Local Museum

Business in Greenwood: WOW Finalist for Dish’s “National Dealer of the Year”

Thursday April 10, WOW (World of Wireless), a local Dish Retailer for the past 20 years is  having some visitors. WOW is a finalist for DISH’s National Dealer of the year award for 2014.  DISH will make the announcement at their annual Team Summit meeting in Mid­-May.  This week World of Wireless is celebrating by having the local ESPN radio show “The Morning  Rush” with Tommy, Derek and Tyler Wilson live at their store to do their morning radio  broadcast. Tyler signed some Razorback Flags as giveaways with new service. WOW will also  have another local radio station group 94.5 THE FORT at the store live and that will be the first  opportunity for customers to stop in and win “Rocklahoma” concert tickets.  Thursday, DISH’s corporate video crew is filming at the local retailer for most of the day  capturing the essence of the local retailer who is up for the “National Retailer of the Year  Award” from Dish.    During this weekend’s promotion WOW has been authorized to offer a $150.00 Visa Gift Card  Bounty for new customers who bring in their cable bill, switch to DISH and sign up for the  FREE Hopper System. The Razorback Escalade will be at the store snorting and blowing smoke  and showing off the portable Tailgater satellite system.  Read More »

Greenwood Police Department to Hold “Prescription Drug Take Back Day” on April 25th

Saturday, April 25 from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM, the Greenwood Police Department will be stationed at Walgreens (705 West Center) in Greenwood to collect expired and unused medications in the state’s 10th “Take Back” event, and the first such event to be organized locally. Greenwood’s Lunden Williams and Harding University Head to Division II National Tournament

Greenwood’s Lundon Williams is a freshman at Harding University in Searcy and a member of the Lady Bison’s basketball team which won the GAC conference.
