Bulldogs Sign Commitment Letters for National Signing Day 2014

February 5, 2014 was national signing day for Division I colleges and Universities. Greenwood’s own Jabe Burgess signed to play football for the University of Tulsa and Brett Calhoun signed to play football for Arkansas Tech University at Russellville.

We ran the stories of the signing in our February 5th issue. There is room here for the photos taken that day. The Cheer gym was full of students and several of Brett’s and Jabe’s classmates and fellow Bulldogs joined in the occasion after the official signing ceremony.

Jabe Burgess graduated Greenwood High School in December and is already attending classes at the University of Tulsa. The school wanted him at the earliest possible moment for practice. He will return to Greenwood for graduation ceremonies in May with his Class of 2014.

Brett was injured in the fall and underwent shoulder surgery. He was out for a part of the 2013 season. During his recovery, he has proved to be a valuable member of the GHS Wrestling Team.
